The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is expected to issue an Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) about COVID-19 vaccine mandates and weekly testing. The ETS would mandate that private employers with more than 100 employees either mandate COVID-19 vaccines for their employees or implement weekly COVID-19 testing programs. As employers wait for the issuance of this standard, a key OSHA partner is providing COVID-19 related information for workplaces.
On September 14, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its Workplaces and Businesses page, which also contains a link to OSHA guidance for mitigating and preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. The CDC’s website offers access to workplace disease prevention strategies that include ventilation, cleaning and disinfection, types of masks, workplace vaccination programs, post-vaccination considerations, case investigations and contact tracing.
The CDC’s Workplaces and Businesses page also contains recordings of guidance calls with stakeholders and printable posters and flyers for the workplace.
