Are you ready for OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week? Each August, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) sponsors a week-long, nationwide event to encourage employers to take a proactive approach to workplace health and safety. This year’s event is scheduled for August 15 to 21, 2022. Last year, more than 5,300 businesses participated.

As OSHA’s Safe + Sound page explains, “successful safety and health programs can proactively identify and manage workplace hazards before they cause injury or illness.” Safe + Sound Week is a time to recognize safety successes, OSHA adds, but it’s also an opportunity to get your program started or energize an existing one with benefits that include a stronger bottom line.

“Taking a proactive approach to safety is a smart investment in risk management and cost avoidance.” – Jim Testo, EHS Risk Management

EHS Risk Management can help you take a proactive approach to safety through a functional program that benefits your business. This program has a main policy that clearly states what you’re trying to accomplish. It also contains procedures that explain how you will achieve your goals. Individual programs that describe specific activities are also part of this forward-thinking approach.

Importantly, this approach features a technology-based solution that supports mobile devices. The cloud puts the latest information at your fingertips – and it’s the same information as other users have available since everything is stored on remote servers. With the cloud’s bring your own device (BYOD) model, you can use a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. So, say goodbye to dusty binders on the shelf.

The EHS Risk Manager is a business value proposition that reduces costs and supports your company’s performance. The EHS Portal provides a real-time process for managing your company’s policies and procedures. To learn more, email Jim Testo at [email protected]
