EHS Risk Management, LLC, recently exhibited at the New York State Innovation Summit, an annual event where organizations showcase new and emerging technologies that are driving business growth. This year’s event was held from October 28-29, 2024, at the Oncenter in Syracuse, New York. EHS Risk Management’s Jim Testo, Dan Ireland, and Barbara Rockwell met with manufacturers and shared the business benefits of using today’s technology to reduce EHS risks and control costs.
The New York State Innovation Summit consists of a tradeshow-style exhibitor hall, keynote speakers, and breakout sessions. This year’s event featured 100+ exhibitors in areas such as Advanced Manufacturing, Food Innovations, and Digital Technology. Companies that apply to exhibit are evaluated regarding the innovative nature of their technologies. This is the second year in a row that FuzeHub, the event organizer, has approved EHS Risk Management to be an exhibitor.
“It was an honor to exhibit alongside the most innovative companies in New York State, and valuable to connect with so many companies in the industries that we serve.” – Jim Testo, EHS Risk Management, LLC
Two of the four keynote addresses at this year’s event were given by business leaders in key industries that EHS Risk Management serves. Mark Helm of Micron Technology described how the semiconductor giant is building the nation’s largest chipmaking plant near Syracuse. Paul “Pauly” Guglielmo of Craft Cannery near Rochester, New York explained what it takes to build a successful food manufacturing business.
At the EHS Risk Management Booth, visitors learned how the EHS Risk Manager is a technology-enabled service for recognizing, evaluating, mitigating, and managing a company’s EHS risk. Visitors also learned how the EHS Portal provides an efficient, real-time, and cost-effective digital process for managing and implementing a company’s EHS policies, programs, procedures, and records. By using technology-enabled services, manufacturers in any industry can drive business value.
Companies that outsource their EHS in this way can get the professional expertise they need without hiring a full-time employee. The cost of an in-house safety manager generally ranges from $80K to $120K a year, but an outsourced solution costs $30K to $60K annually. Manufacturers who choose EHS Risk Management can also leverage the power of today’s technology to manage and mitigate risks that can lead to workplace incidents that hurt the bottom line.
