A recent investigation revealed that 250+ workers have died in trench cave-ins over the last decade. Jack Martin, a plumber in Houston, was one of them. In 2019, Martin was buried alive while installing a sewer line behind a shopping center. He’d asked his employer to install a trench box to stabilize the walls, but the company said the system of metal plates was too expensive.

OSHA fined Martin’s employer an amount that that exceeded the cost of a trench box. Martin’s widow also filed a lawsuit, and the plumbing company’s workers’ compensation rates surely increased. Too many contractors think that accidents like the one that took Jack Martin’s life can’t happen to them. Instead of taking a proactive approach to safety, they take tragic and expensive risks.

“A proactive risk management system must account for how your business operates. With today’s technology and domain expertise, you can get a complete safety management solution”. – Jim Testo, EHS Risk Management

Manage Risks and Control Costs

EHS Risk Management can help you to manage risks and control costs. The solution is a proactive safety program – a sustainable operating system with built-in processes for your specific business. Your program follows a policy-procedure format, and each procedure contains roles, responsibility, and accountability. Management is committed, employers are involved, and everyone benefits.

This ideal system puts all the safety-related information that everyone needs right at their fingertips. Whether it’s in the office or on the jobsite, managers and employees can use their own smartphones, laptops, or desktop computers. This technology-driven approach costs less than you might think since your employees manage the program that our domain experts create.

Let’s Get Started

There are two essential elements to our approach:

  • The EHS Risk Manager is a functional process based on recognizing, evaluating, mitigating and managing your environmental health and safety (EHS) risks.
  • The EHS Portal provides an efficient, real-time, cost-effective digital process for the management and implementation of your EHS policies, programs, procedures, and records.
